India cricketer Rishabh Pant will be transferred to Mumbai for further treatment on Wednesday, according to Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sundar, as reported by news agency ANI. Pant was being treated at Dehradun’s Max Hospital after being involved in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 while driving to his hometown of Roorkee.
“Rishabh is being moved to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of his ligament injuries, as well as to determine the next steps. He is expected to be under the supervision of renowned sports orthopaedic Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who has been appointed by the BCCI. If surgery is recommended, a call will be placed to determine whether it will take place in the United Kingdom or the United States “On condition of anonymity, a senior BCCI source told PTI.
Pant was rushed to Saksham Hospital in the early hours of last Friday after his car overturned multiple times and caught fire. Following emergency treatment, he was referred to the Max Hospital.
Pant suffered injuries to his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, ankle and wrist injuries, and back abrasions. On the highway, a Haryana Roadways bus driver and conductor rescued the 25-year-old.
Sundar had previously stated that Pant was responding favorably to the treatment. “Pant is upbeat and responding well to treatment… “He had plastic surgery on his left brow, where he had a cut in the accident,” he explained.
Sharma stated that the BCCI was keeping a close eye on Pant’s treatment and was in “constant contact” with his medical team.
“He will take some time to recover from the ligament injury in his right knee. He will receive the best possible care “He went on to say.
According to a BCCI staffer quoted by the Press Trust of India, Pant faces a lengthy absence from competitive cricket and will most likely miss the four-Test Australia series at the home beginning February 9.
According to multiple reports, Pant may miss the entire IPL 2023 season. He is the Delhi Capitals’ captain.
“To get to the point, he was obviously an important part of Team India’s plans during the World Cup year. But now that everyone is aware of the situation, “said Hardik Pandya, India’s captain in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
