Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation
Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation on Saturday was the culmination of a crisis that began with a single cancelled exam. The trigger for the protests was the cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), India’s undergraduate medical entrance exam, after its papers were found to have leaked. About two million students had taken the exam on May 3, but it was later scrapped, with roughly a dozen student suicides linked to the cancellation.
