Popular Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is now facing an industry wide ban following a major disagreement over the highly anticipated movie Don 3. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees took this extreme step after the actor walked away from the high profile project directed by Farhan Akhtar.

The Root of the Conflict
The issue began when Ranveer Singh unexpectedly walked out of Don 3 just three weeks before the shooting unit was scheduled to travel for filming. This sudden exit left the production house Excel Entertainment in a tight spot. The producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani claimed that the actor’s last minute departure caused massive financial losses and completely disrupted their pre production schedules.
Following the exit Farhan Akhtar filed a formal complaint with the film federation. The production house is now demanding a massive compensation of 45 crore rupees from the actor to recover the losses incurred due to the delayed project.
Why the Federation Stepped In
The federation decided to act after trying to resolve the issue directly with Ranveer Singh. According to industry officials the federation sent three formal notices to the actor over several weeks asking him to share his side of the story. However the actor did not appear in person.
Instead his team recently sent an email stating that the federation did not have the legal authority to handle this specific matter. This response upset the federation leaders who emphasized that no superstar is bigger than the rules of the industry. Consequently they issued a strict non cooperation directive against him.
What the Ban Means for the Actor
This non cooperation directive is essentially a heavy blow to Ranveer Singh’s current career. The directive instructs all technicians daily wage workers actors and production houses to stop working with him immediately.
If the ban stays active it could stall his future projects. This includes his upcoming zombie thriller movie titled Pralay which also marks his debut as a producer. The industry body has made it clear that the restrictions will remain in place until the actor meets them personally to settle the dispute.
Ranveer Singh Responds to the Backlash
After the ban became official Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson released a statement to address the situation. The statement mentioned that the actor has the highest respect for the film fraternity and the entire Don franchise.
His team explained that he chose to stay silent through the controversy because he believes professional discussions should be handled with dignity and mutual respect rather than public arguments. The spokesperson added that Ranveer Singh is currently focused on his work commitments ahead and sincerely wishes the franchise the very best.
