Mamata Banerjee
KOLKATA:Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at a meeting with her party leaders at her home, she claimed that the BJP will soon lose its power in Delhi. She expressed strong confidence that the central government’s days are numbered.
The tension between the two political parties has risen after Mamata’s nephew and Lok Sabha MP, Abhishek Banerjee, received a demolition notice. The notice was sent regarding an alleged illegal construction. However, Abhishek Banerjee made it clear that he will not back down or feel scared by these actions, calling it an attempt to pressure him.
Allegations of Unfair Targeting
During her speech to TMC MLAs, Mamata Banerjee raised serious concerns about recent events in the state. She alleged that the newly formed BJP setup is deliberately targeting common citizens and specific groups.
According to Mamata, regular people who earn their living on the streets are facing the brunt of recent administrative actions.
“Minority communities are being targeted. Hawkers’ stalls are being bulldozed,” Mamata said.
She pointed out that under the guise of removing illegal encroachments, the authorities are destroying the small shops of roadside vendors. She linked these actions to political motives and criticized the use of heavy machinery against poor hawkers.Political Conflict and Post-Poll Tension
The situation in West Bengal has remained highly charged following recent elections. The state has seen ongoing debates over law and order, political rivalry, and incidents of post-poll violence. While the administration maintains that it is simply clearing public spaces and handling unauthorized properties, the TMC views it as a direct political attack on its supporters and weaker sections of society.
Mamata’s strong words show that the TMC is ready to fight back against the central government’s policies. By standing firmly behind her nephew Abhishek and speaking up for local vendors, she wants to unite her party workers for the political battles ahead.
With both sides refusing to back down, the political clash between the TMC and the BJP is expected to get much more intense in the coming days.
