Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much anticipated trip to Washington, UNGA President Csaba Krosi indicated his support for India’s long-standing call for reforms at the UN Security Council.

“India is hardly the only country calling for a more diverse Security Council. Member states are aware that reform is necessary because the current council framework is outdated, according to President Krosi.
India is one of the nations that thinks it can improve world prosperity. Since 13 years have passed since the debate on reform began, it is past time for action. Member states are accountable, and India is one of the most vocal advocates for speedy Security Council reform, he continued.
On Tuesday, the prime minister left for his trip to the US. On his highly anticipated trip, which also includes a state supper and an address to Congress, he will take part in the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga.
The 9th International Day of Yoga celebrations at the UN headquarters in New York will include participation from the UNGA President and PM Modi.
