Om Raut is back with another epic, Adipurush, after delivering the blockbuster Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. On Tuesday, a new trailer for Adipurush was released, and it’s safe to say that it was slightly more believable than the dramatic teaser, which was rejected by viewers due to poor VFX and Saif Ali Khan’s appearance as Lankesh. The trailer, which is more than three minutes long, depicts the epic Ramayana story with Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
The trailer of Adipurush begins with Lord Hanuman telling the story of Raghava, who became a God after being born as a human. As the major events of the Ramayana are depicted in an impressive manner, a brief glimpse of Saif as Lankesh stands out, even though he is only seen in the disguise of a sage. While praying in front of a massive shivling, he is heard saying, “Brahmand mein tu jo bhi paane layak hai tu pa chuka hai, fir bhi tu rakshas hi hai.” Lakshmi ko paale, Narayan ho jayega (you have already obtained everything worthy of the universe, but you are still referred to as a devil. If you obtain Lakshmi, you will become Lord Vishnu).”
Adipurush will be released in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Adipurush trailer was released simultaneously in 70 countries including Canada, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Russia, Egypt, and others. It was recently announced that Adipurush will be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on June 13.
“I am honoured that Adipurush will have its World Premiere At The Tribeca Festival, New York,” Prabhas said of the premiere. It is an honour to be a part of a project that reflects the values of our country. To see our Indian films, particularly one close to my heart, Adipurush, reach a global audience makes me extremely proud, not only as an actor but also as an Indian. “I’m excited to see how the audience reacts at Tribeca,” he said.
