However, some directors have a specific actor in mind, and these actors are their “original choice.” But we don’t live in an ideal world, and sometimes these original choice decline the offers for a variety of reasons.

Imtiaz Ali’s original choice for Nargis Fakhri’s role in Rockstar was Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone revealed to Anupama Chopra that director Imtiaz Ali offered her the role of Heer from Rockstar long before she debuted in Om Shanti Om. This was even before she considered working in film.
She declined the offer, and it was eventually accepted by Nargis Fakhri. Deepika did, however, sign Love Aaj Kal.
Ajay Devgn was originally offered the role of Ranveer Singh in Bajirao Mastani
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first choice for the role of Bajirao was Ajay Devgn.
He confirmed the rumours to India Today, saying, “I was approached for the lead role, but we couldn’t agree on the terms and conditions, dates, money, everything.” Ranveer Singh was offered the role, and it became one of his masterpieces.
Kareena Kapoor’s role as Geet in Jab We Met was originally intended for Bhumika Chawla
Kareena Kapoor Khan is synonymous with Geet. But did you know that Imitiaz Ali initially approached Bhumika Chawla and Bobby Deol to play Geet and Aditya? The film wasn’t even called Jab We Met back then. It was known as Train. Following the success of Tere Naam, Bhumika received a slew of offers.
In addition to Jab We Met, Bhumika Chawla was the first choice for Gracy Singh’s role in Munna Bhai MBBS
Munna Bhai MBBS was another big-budget film offered to Bhumika Chawla after Tere Naam. The actor had also agreed to appear in the film.
She revealed to Siddharth Kannan, “Only Raju sir can share this.” He revealed the reason after 10-12 years when we met at a location. ‘You were removed from the film due to a mistake made by someone,’ he explained. But that’s fine. This also occurs here.”
Raja Hindustani’s first choice for Karisma Kapoor’s role was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Few people are aware that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan began receiving offers even before she competed in Miss India. Dharmesh Darshan’s Raja Hindustani was one of these offerings. Suniel Shetty’s role in Hera Pheri was originally envisioned for Sanjay Dutt
Is it possible to imagine Hera Pheri without Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty? That was the original plan, at least. Priyadarshan had originally offered the role of Ghanshyam to Sanjay Dutt, but he was unable to accept due to his court proceedings.
