On Tuesday, Ram Charan , who is on a promotional tour for RRR ahead of the Oscar Awards in Los Angeles, appeared as a guest on another TV chat show. On the show, he was referred to as “Brad Pitt of India,” which he didn’t seem to mind.
Ram Charan appeared on KTLA Entertainment to discuss his film, RRR, with Sam Rubin, Frank Buckley, Jessica Holmes, and Mark Kriski. “He’s been referred to as the Brad Pitt of India,” Sam said as he introduced Ram Charan to the audience. “Do you like that moniker?” “I mean, I like that designation for sure,” Ram Charan responded. Fans of the actor reacted to the comparison with fire and party emojis on social media.
During the show, Ram was also asked what it would be like to win the Oscar for Best Original Song. “It will be the most surreal day of my life. I just want to be a guest on the show, and now that I’m a Best Original Song nominee, I can’t wait to bring that trophy back to India. “RRR is re-releasing tomorrow, and I would like to encourage everyone to invest some time in it because it will not disappoint you,” Ram said.
The Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards recently awarded RRR’s song Naatu Naatu Best Original Song. The film also won awards for Best Action Film, Best Stunts, and Best International Feature.
RRR is directed by SS Rajamouli and is based on a pre-independence fictional story woven around two real-life Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, along with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles.
The lavishly staged epic is the first Indian film to be nominated for an Academy Award in over two decades. Aside from RRR, Indian documentaries such as All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen and The Elephant Whisperers by Karthik Gonsalves have been nominated for best documentary feature and best documentary short segments at the 2023 Academy Awards.
