Pathaan continues to outperform expectations at the box office. The Hindi version of Shah Rukh Khan’s film earned 37.5 crore net in India on Friday, a 45 percent drop from the previous day, which was a national holiday due to Republic Day. Despite this decline, Pathaan’s total domestic collection after three days stands at 160-161 crore net. The action film, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana, was released in theaters on January 25.
According to a previous report, Pathaan’s domestic box office collections on Saturday and Sunday could reach 40 crores and 50 crores, respectively. Pathaan, Shah Rukh’s new film, is breaking international box office records as well. According to a new report, Pathaan is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide in the original format or a single language after grossing 106 crores on its opening day. Pathaan grossed 200 crores worldwide in two days, according to production banner Yash Raj Films.
Pathaan collected 37.50 crore net on Friday, according to Box Office India, adding that Pathaan in Hindi is looking to go “where no Indian film has ever gone” with their original format. “Dangal is the biggest this way with 702 crores gross worldwide, while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi) did 800 crores and going by the overseas numbers and just taking a minimum of 400 crore net in India, which Pathaan will cruise to, it will surpass the numbers of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,” according to a new Box Office India report.
Pathaan was released in three languages: Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Before Pathaan’s release, trade analyst Taran Adarsh told PTI that the film will resurrect Bollywood and usher in a fantastic 2023 for the film industry. “The film is going to take a historic start at the box office with opening day collections of 45-50 crore,” he said before Pathaan’s release. Pathaan will kick off the box office revival, thanks to its unusually high advance booking. Although it is a working day, it is a fantastic start to 2023.”
