About Zubair Ahmad Khan:
Zubair Ahmad Khan is a government teacher from South Kashmir’s Kokernag Anantnag who loves his profession for the very spirit of it. He can sacrifice his life for the well-being of his students. He loves to teach students from underprivileged sections of society. Why? because he was also one of them well before becoming a teacher. He feels warm restoration in his chest because he knows he is going to make a difference in this world by molding young minds.
What are some of the greatest milestones in Zubair’s life journey?
A passionate teacher is someone who is in love with a field of knowledge, who is deeply involved with the issues that change our world, and who is drawn to the dilemmas and potential of young people who come to class every day. Zubair Ahmad Khan is one of those who loves to teach students. He will even sacrifice his life for the well-being of his students. In addition to taking the students to a barber for hair-cutting, he also often takes them to a bath. Most of them are so poor that they can’t even afford these basic things. Even if he had to spend some amount on this, he would happily do that.
What are the lessons from the challenges Zubair faced and how did he overcome them?
Zubair Ahmed Khan has seen poverty in his life. After the death of his father, his mother, while upbringing him, inculcated a sense of societal welfare. Because of his hard work and passion for teaching, he is now earning a good living, and he is happily spending some portion of it on his students. For him, “no welfare is as great as his/her student’s welfare”.
Mention some of the values he upholds and would recommend to others…
He always salutes his duty. Every student is different in school, and he advises other teachers to embrace the differences in students. Those differences often make them exceptional. As a teacher, he feels when my approach is ineffective, it becomes necessary to make some changes, and he does it. Each child is different; what works for one student doesn’t work for the other. To serve as a guiding force in a student’s life and act as a friend.
He always wishes to capture the hearts of everyone whom he teaches with love, passion, and fearlessness. For him, teaching is a gift, not a job. He wishes to pull the best out of every child he teaches. He wishes to inspire them so that they can become successful students.
