Akshay Kumar has shared a new photo from the set of his upcoming film, Selfiee. The actor can be seen sitting in an open car with a new sleek look. He poses in a colourful faux fur coat with a serious expression on his face. The actor explained how, as actors, they wear costumes that are inappropriate for the weather at the time.
Akshay captioned the photo on Instagram, “My mantra for today – Garmi, humidity aur faux fur… Sab chalega, bas kaam kar, kaam kar, kaam kar (everything works, just keep working). We are filming a new song for #Selfiee. “See you in theatres on February 24.”
“Looking great sir,” Varun Dhawan commented on his post. Many others, however, compared him to Raveen Singh, who is known for wearing brightly coloured clothes most of the time. “Ranveer Singh apni ID se aao (Ranveer, show your true identity),” a fan wrote. “Ranveer singh ki sanghat ka nateeja aaj dekhne ko mil hei gya,” another said, “we are now seeing the result of you spending time with Ranveer.” Another fan wrote, “Ranveer Singh, se door raha karo sir (avoid Ranveer).” “Looks like Karan Johar,” said one commenter.
Raj Mehta, Director of Good Newwz is directing Selfiee. Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuccha are also part of the film. It is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam comedy Driving Licence, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran as a superstar and Suraj Venjaramoodu as a motor vehicle inspector. Driving License, directed by Lal Jr, is about a star who is famous for his driving abilities but loses his license. He then clashes with a motor inspector, who also happens to be his fan.
Akshay has a few more projects in the works. He recently unveiled his Shivaji look from the Marathi period drama Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. He also has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, in which he plays Major Ian Cardozo, with Tiger Shroff and Gorkha. There is also the remake of Soorarai Pottru and Oh My God 2.
