Dr. Ravisha Savant working as an Assistant Professor in the Post Graduate Department of Botany, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, (Autonomous) Shivajinagar, Pune -411007, is having 15 years of research and teaching experience. Pursued Ph.D. in Plant Tissue Culture from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2005. Published research papers in National, International Journals & conferences and active participation in workshops & FDPs. Expertise in micropropagation of commercially important ornamental and medicinal plants for rapid production of quality planting materials. Also worked on In vitro propagation of selected exotic plants, ornamental bananas, and miniature bananas.

She has won many awards for her work. She was awarded “International Education Award 2020” for “Contribution to Student Development”. She was honored to receive the “Research Excellence Award 2020” from the Institute of Scholars and Received the Women’s Achiever Award 2021. She also Received “The National Brilliance Award 2021” for “Best Innovative Professor and received “Education Excellence Award 2021” for her contribution to the education community. She Received the “International Brilliance Award 2021” for Best Innovative Professor Received the “Global Teacher Award 2021” for contribution to the education community. Displayed bottle garden with various types of themes such as glass container garden, tray garden, and pot garden in an exhibition. She worked as a Consultant for a Jordan-based company for setting up of Tissue Culture lab and providing the protocol for Micropropagation of Date Palm. Set up my plant nursery for hardened banana plants. She Has conducted various activities to motivate young minds to explore their hidden talent and skills and also guided many projects for post-graduate students. Provided Plant Tissue Culture training to graduates and postgraduate students. Conducted Nature Tech activity: A student-run entrepreneurial unit on Mic.
What is the learning from the challenges she has faced and how did she overcome them?
These days facing challenges is not easy, however, there are some real challenges many of us face – at work, at home, in relationships, with money, with family, in the world, and much more. In her career, she did face challenges at work, from which She learned to stay stubborn however bad the situation was. She did not lose hope and kept faith in herself and tried to give herself 100 percent. Whatever the challenge is one must face it with positivity and with a smiling face.
Strong academic background; quick learner with a sharp, analytical mind, qualities that are useful in troubleshooting and research & developmental activities. An effective team player with exceptional planning and execution skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
