A fan recently shared old photographs of Priyanka Chopra on Instagram, revealing that her mother knew the actor from her Bareilly days in the 1990s. The young woman appeared surprised that her mother and the actor had known each other back in the day.
Her Instagram video was shared with the caption “My mom just told me that she knew Priyanka Chopra in Bareilly in the 1990s,”, the reel was set to the tune of Desi Girl from the 2008 film Dostana. The video shows a few pics of Priyanka and her mother, dressed in an Indian outfit, hanging out at a party. The two can also be seen drinking together.
Priyanka lived in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where she attended the Army Public School before becoming Miss India 2000 runner-up and Miss World in 2000 as an 18-year-old. Last month, the actor returned to the state as a UNICEF ambassador to raise awareness about violence and discrimination against women and girls.
Priyanka made her film debut opposite Vijay in Thamizhan (2002), and her Bollywood debut a year later with The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy, co-starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. From 2015 to 2018, she was the first Indian actor to star in a US television series, Quantico. In 2017, she made her Hollywood film debut in Baywatch, alongside actors Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, and Zac Efron.
She most recently appeared in The Matrix Resurrections, alongside Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Lambert Wilson. Priyanka will next be seen in the romantic drama Love Again, in which she will co-star with Sam Heughan. Next year, she will co-star with Richard Madden in Prime Video’s big-budget action series Citadel.
