Karnal, Haryana:
Popular researcher, educator, author, and academic Dr Niddhi Khetarrpal has presented a research paper titled “COMPASS Framework: A Pedagogical Model for Commerce Entrance Examination Readiness under NEP 2020” for the Journal of Indian Education. The paper examines how the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is transforming India’s higher education admission system and opening new career pathways, particularly for commerce and economics aspirants.
The study introduces the COMPASS Framework, a structured pedagogical model designed to strengthen conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and entrance-exam readiness in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The framework promotes competency-based, application-oriented, and interdisciplinary learning.
Dr Khetarrpal highlights that CUET is redefining subject choices and academic combinations, especially for commerce students. A key focus of the research is the growing importance of Economics as a major subject, which is now being integrated into artificial intelligence, data analytics, business intelligence, and other interdisciplinary programmes, benefiting non-medical, commerce, and humanities students.
The paper also emphasises NEP 2020’s push towards multidisciplinary education, enabling students to combine Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and Business Studies, supported by CUET’s standardised assessment structure.

Alongside her research contribution, Dr Khetarrpal has also introduced her upcoming book titled “Vision CUET for Economics”. The book aims to provide a comprehensive and structured roadmap for students preparing Economics as a major subject under the CUET framework, focusing on concept mastery, application-based practice, and strategic preparation.
Dr Khetarrpal further stresses the importance of early profile building, skill development, and strategic subject selection at the school level. The COMPASS Framework offers practical guidance to educators to align classroom pedagogy with evolving entrance examination patterns and future workforce needs.
Dr Niddhi Khetarrpal continues to actively contribute to educational research and teacher training initiatives focused on strengthening assessment literacy and innovative pedagogy across India.
