Basant Panchami
ऋतु बसन्त आये सतगुरु जग में, चलो चरनन पर सीस धरो री ॥

“With the arrival of the sacred season of Basant, the Most Benevolent and Supremely Merciful Satguru manifested on this earth. Let us all bow our heads in reverence at His Holy Lotus Feet.”
On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami – 2026, this sacred festival was celebrated with deep devotion, reverence, and enthusiasm at the main centre of the Radhasoami Faith at Dayalbagh, as well as across Satsang communities worldwide. This holy occasion inspires renewed dedication to the eternal ideal of selfless service—to walk the path of duty and service without any expectation of reward—which forms the very foundation of life and conduct at Dayalbagh.
The fifth day (Panchami) of the month of Magh (January/February), known as Basant Panchami, is regarded as highly sacred and auspicious by Hindus and is considered a symbol of joy, happiness, and celebration. With the arrival of spring after winter, new energy and vitality permeate the lives of humans, animals, birds, and the entire plant kingdom. Saints have described this season as the most appropriate time for the divine manifestation of the Supreme Lord on earth.
For the followers of the Radhasoami Faith, Basant Panchami is a day of immense joy and celebration, as on this sacred day—15 February 1861—the first Most Revered Guru of the faith, Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Swamiji Maharaj, delivered divine teachings for the welfare of humanity and opened the doors of Satsang to the common people. Furthermore, on the auspicious day of Basant Panchami, 20 January 1915, the fifth Most Revered Guru of the Radhasoami Faith, Sar Sahib Ji Maharaj, laid the foundation of Dayalbagh by planting a mulberry sapling.
As in previous years, followers of Radha Soami Satsang, Dayalbagh celebrated the Basant Festival this year as well, on 23 January, with great enthusiasm across 16 centres in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Various programmes highlighting the significance of the Basant Festival were organized with active participation from children, men, and women. In the same spirit, the Satsangis of the Nagpur branch also celebrated Basant Panchami with great joy and fervour. Special Satsangs, cultural programmes, and sports activities were organized, in which all Satsangis participated wholeheartedly.
In the august presence of Revered Guru Maharaj Prof. Prem Saran Satsangi Sahib, the Basant Panchami programmes were broadcast live across more than 580 Satsang centres. On this occasion, collective spiritual exclamations such as “Bravo–Supremal–Octave” and “Radhasoami” filled the atmosphere with energy, enthusiasm, and spiritual consciousness.
