The son of Pulenthiran and Mangaiyatkarasi, Magizhan migrated to Denmark as a refugee at just seven years old, later settling in London, where he completed a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Yet, even as he built a professional life as an engineer, his heart resonated with the pulse of Tamil music and the power of cultural activism.
Magizhan’s musical journey is deeply intertwined with the revival of the parai drum — once stigmatized, now reborn as a symbol of resistance and pride.
