Amit Jain’s Institute of Diabetic foot & Wound care (Podiatry), an eponymous wing in Brindhavvan Areion Hospital of Bengaluru , at its 8th year anniversary, is all set to have new diabetic foot screening clinics in Bengaluru in different zones in coming months states, Dr Amit Jain, Chief Consultant and Head of the Institute.
With growing incidence of diabetes, it became essential to focus on preventive aspect in foot to avoid complications in diabetic foot that will lead to surgeries and heavy cost to the patient that can be avoided or delayed through screening and education. One of the vision of Amit Jain’s Institute and Amit Jain’s project, which is the largest known independent philanthropic project on diabetic foot by an Indian in the field of diabetic foot, was to provide education to patients, public and also healthcare professionals which was done through Amit Jain’s Diabetic Foot education unit and popular state of art CME “The Amit Jain’s Show- Podollywood of Diabetic Foot” over years. Now it was time for the Diabetic Foot wing of the hospital to have the new Amit Jain’s preventive podiatry clinic’s in nearby area’s with intention of identify high risk individuals and institute measures to avoid foot complications in patients states Dr Suresh Kumar, Director of Brindavvan Areion Hospital.
Although diabetic foot clinics and department existed in India over year’s in different hospital, it was often under some other department or headed by different specialists like Endocrinologist, Diabetologist, Vascular Surgeons etc. Amit Jain’s Institute of Diabetic foot and Wound Care (Podiatry) is one of the first known Independent eponymous Institute since 2017 in India that is headed by a Qualified Diabetic foot surgeon which functions according to the Published Amit Jain’s Model’s and it has completed 8 years in 2025.
This Podiatry Institute in India has already set a world record in Grand Asian Book of World Record’s earlier and recently Amit Jain’s Institute of Diabetic Foot and Wound care has set a new world of being the Centre with Maximum Original Innovations in the world that is enshrined in World Record Books of India and India’s World Records states Dr Kishore Kumar, Director of Brindhavvan Areion Hospital. The Institute in the Hospital was named after Dr Amit Jain years ago, as a mark of respect to his focused dedication and work in view of his original eponymous published work of excellence in Indian Medical literature said Dr Kishore Kumar.
With record breaking original innovative works in history of field of Podiatry in India and across the world, Dr Amit Jain has garnered numerous monickers such as “The Rocking Doc”, Father of Diabetic foot surgery, The Doc Who Rocked, etc meritoriously in view of his distinct work of excellence surgically, socially, philanthropically and academically with him giving the first principle and practice in the diabetic foot in the world as per published medical literature over years from India and he is known to have set distinct world records like highest eponymous work in medical literature, youngest doctor to give principle and practice in the world, Youngest Father of a specialized medical domain (diabetic foot surgery ) for his ground breaking original innovations in podiatry field, doctor to have highest named work in a book, etc.
One of such innovative work of Amit Jain’s is the fastest screening tool in foot known as the Triple Assessment of Diabetic foot or The Linear Foot Test. With the Amit Jain’s Institute already employing the new innovative screening tool for years in its day to day practice, the new screening clinics shall also be employing the Amit Jain’s screening tool for diabetic foot, states Dr. Amit Jain, Chief Podiatric Surgeon. Only in coming years, we shall be able to assess the success of the screening clinic and it benefits but the tentative aim shall be to screen as many patients as possible in nearby area’s in next few years, says Dr Amit Jain.
