Chhavi Singh journey is a remarkable transformation from an electronics engineer and NYU MBA graduate to an investment banker, and finally, an artepreneur. Her passion for art and her drive to empower women led to the founding of DailyDesignist, the world’s only digital creative arts platform that aims to promote, support, and inspire women artisans globally.
Founded four years ago in North Carolina, USA, DailyDesignist has quickly become a powerhouse in the arts industry, gathering a community of over 1,000 women artists from 18 different countries. True to its tagline, “Women Creating, World Celebrating,” the platform is dedicated to digitizing the often-overlooked arts industry, addressing gender bias, and standardizing the fragmented market. A core focus is also on preserving the dying forms of folk art, especially traditional paintings.
DailyDesignist stands out not only for its unique mission but also for its commitment to empowering women artisans by providing a global platform for their work. The platform offers a wide range of services, including creative arts classes, mindfulness workshops, and DIY art sessions, while also presenting a rich array of products such as original paintings, portraits, wall art, handcrafted furniture, décor, gifts, and hand-painted fashion for men, women, and children.
This mission took on a new dimension in late 2023 when DailyDesignist entered the Indian market under the brand name Drishya. The platform’s debut in India was nothing short of historic, as it became involved in the beautification of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, one of India’s most important cultural landmarks. Drishya provided six original Madhubani folk art paintings, created by National Award-winning artists from Bihar’s Madhubani region, to be displayed at the People Visiting Center of the temple during its inauguration in January 2024. This project stands as a significant milestone for Drishya and a proud moment for Chhavi Singh, as it aligns with her vision of blending traditional art forms with modern platforms and audiences.
Beyond India, Chhavi’s vision for DailyDesignist and Drishya is expansive. The company plans to enter other global markets such as Europe and the Middle East in the coming years, with the goal of becoming the go-to place for all art-related needs. From corporate clients and real estate developers to interior designers, hospitality chains, government bodies, and schools, the platform is attracting a diverse range of customers from across sectors.
In addition to the Ram Mandir project, Drishya is already working on beautification projects for local governments and bodies in India, utilizing the talents of women artisans. This not only provides opportunities for these artists but also promotes the rich cultural heritage of Indian folk art. Drishya’s operations in India is being led by Mr. Paras Nath Singh (Chhavi Singh’s Father). Is a Mechanical Engineer with 40+ years of managing and executing major infrastructure government projects like bridges, rail bridges, flyovers in India.
