Adipurush screenings have been forbidden, according to the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Ramayana-based film, in the opinion of AICWA, “clearly” insults the likeness of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman and offends the “religious sentiments of Hindus and Sanatan Dharma.”
While it does not specifically call for any action against the film’s stars,
“Such a disgraceful movie ever made in the history of Indian Cinema” shouldn’t have had Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, according to critics.
According to the letter from AICWA, the movie depicts Lord Ram and Ravan in a way that is reminiscent of video game characters, and its speech has angered Indians both domestically and internationally. The group claims that Prabhu Shri Ram is revered as a god in India by people of all faiths.
AICWA has responded by pleading with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to step in and take steps to stop further screenings of the film Adipurush in theatres and on OTT platforms. Additionally, Om Raut, Manoj Muntasir Shukla, and the movie’s producers are to be named in a First Information Report (FIR), according to AICWA.
The renowned images of Bhagwan Shri Ram, Maa Sita, and the dedicated Ramsevak Bhagwan Hanuman must be protected, according to the AICWA, who feels that the portrayal has gravely damaged Hindu sensibilities. As a result, quick action is required. The sacredness and veneration attached to these deities are what AICWA wants to protect.
