On Saturday, guests began to arrive at Westminster Abbey in London for King Charles III’s coronation. Katy Perry, who was seen struggling to find a seat at the venue, was among them. Social media videos of Katy looking for her seat went viral. Katy Perry was dressed in lavender and wore a matching hat.
Katy Perry sported a lavender skirt-top and hat, as well as matching gloves and a pearl necklace. She also had a white handbag on her. While Katy Perry was seen looking for a seat among the 2,200 guests, many joked that those sitting behind her would have an obstructed view due to her large hat. Katy Perry is an ambassador for the British Asian Trust, which was founded in 2007 by King Charles III (then Prince of Wales).
Lionel Richie, an American singer and songwriter, was also spotted wearing a three-piece suit. In 2019, he was named the First Global Ambassador and First Chairman of the Global Ambassador Group for The Prince’s Trust, the King’s charity. Katy and Lionel will both perform at the coronation concert on Sunday.
Emma Thompson arrived in a floral motif, wearing a red coat with a rose design. Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, who played Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Victoria respectively, chose different shades of blue for their outfits. Joanna Lumley wore a navy coat with a white collar and a matching white hat.
Later, Tom Cruise, Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger, tubby little cubby Winnie the Pooh, and Sonam Kapoor will attend the concert and perform a spoken word performance. The concert is also expected to feature performances by British pop group Take That, Welsh bass-baritone opera singer Sir Bryn Terfel, singer Freya Ridings, and musician Alexis Ffrench. Other artists performing at the concert include English singer Paloma Faith, Nigerian singer-songwriter Tiwa Savage, English musician Steve Winwood, English singer-songwriter Olly Murs, and club DJ Pete Tong, who will play his Ibiza classics.
