Twenty-two days after fugitive pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh and his aide Papalpreet Singh escaped from the Punjab police dragnet in Jalandhar, Papalpreet was apprehended by Amritsar rural police on Monday morning in the Kathunangal area. However, Amritpal is still on the run.
“He has been arrested under the National Security Act,” said Sukhchain Singh Gill, inspector general (police headquarters). (NSA). Six other cases have been filed against him, and further legal action will be taken against him in accordance with the law.”
He went on to say that any further developments, in this case, would be shared with the media on a regular basis. Gill declined to answer any further questions from the media.
