Shilpa Shetty marked “new beginnings” with an update on her next project during his Gudi Padwa. The actress has announced that she has joined the cast of KD – The Devil, a Prem directorial starring Dhruva Sarja. Shilpa Shetty delighted fans on Wednesday by sharing the first-look poster of her character Satyavati from the film. On social media, the actress looked stunning in a white saree with red polka dots. Her look was completed by a pair of large sunglasses, a bindi, a choker, a long necklace, and a handbag.
Satyavati’s features were also emphasized in the poster, which depicted her standing against a vintage car with a few imperial-style buildings in the background. Shilpa Shetty shared the poster with her fans, wishing them a happy Ugadi and Gudi Padwa and adding, “On this auspicious day of NEW beginnings, I’m thrilled to share with you a NEW character entering the war in #KD’s battlefield as Satyavati.”
In a separate post, director Prem welcomed Shilpa Shetty on board. “Wishing you all a Happy Ugadi!” he wrote, referring to her as a “powerhouse.” A powerhouse enters the war on this auspicious day! “Welcome to KD’s battlefield, the powerful Shilpa Shetty!”
Earlier this week, the creators of KD – The Devil teased fans about a new cast member. Prem, too, shared a poster of a saree and wrote, “A war is between kingdoms.” And kingdoms require a strong ‘Satyavati’. Prepare to meet Satyavati on March 22 at 11:31 a.m.! “A veteran enters KD’s battlefield.”
Sanjay Dutt plays a pivotal role in KD – The Devil, a period film in the works. Shilpa Shetty’s first project in the Kannada film industry is not this one. She also appeared in Preethsod Thappa and Ravichandra’s Ondagona Baa in 1998 and Auto Shankar in 2005.
KD – The Devil is said to be set in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In the film, which also stars Ravichandran, Dhruva Sarja plays a gangster. ICYDK, Shilpa, and Ravichandran have previously collaborated.
