Rishabh Pant, an Indian wicketkeeper-batter, posted a picture of his recovery journey on his social media account on Wednesday. Pant captioned a video of himself walking in a pool as part of his recovery process, “Grateful for small things, big things, and everything in between.”
Pant is currently undergoing treatment for serious injuries suffered in a near-fatal car accident at the end of last year. To keep his fans informed of his progress, the star wicketkeeper-batsman has frequently shared health updates on Instagram and other social media platforms.
Pant recently posted a photo of himself playing chess on his Instagram story. There was a chess board with some pieces in front of him on a table on a terrace, as well as an empty chair. He appeared to be playing chess with someone, but it’s unclear with whom the wicketkeeper-batter was chatting. He even captioned the photo cryptically, “Can anyone guess who’s playing?”
Pant had previously provided an update on his surgery for a ligament tear. “I am humbled and grateful for all of your support and well wishes,” Pant said on Twitter. “I am pleased to inform you that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun, and I am prepared to face the challenges that lie ahead. Thank you for your incredible support, @BCCI, @JayShah, and government officials.”
Pant went on to say, “I’d also like to thank all of my fans, teammates, doctors, and physios from the bottom of my heart for your kind words and encouragement. I hope to see you all out on the pitch.”
He is expected to take a very long time to recover and will miss important events such as the IPL 2023 and perhaps the ODI World Cup later this year.
