Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday to congratulate him on his party’s historic victory in the 2022 Assembly election.
CM Patel stated on Twitter, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Bhai Shah congratulated the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on their historic victory in the Gujarat Assembly elections. This is a victory for the people’s unwavering faith in the BJP’s good governance. Gujarat, thank you!”
The Big Win of the BJP in Gujarat, with the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, failed to challenge it. Patel also met with BJP state chief CR Patil at the BJP headquarters in Ahmedabad, where they exchanged congratulations and distributed sweets to party workers.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the voters of the state for giving me a historic victory in the Gujarat Assembly Elections as a stamp of unwavering faith on the Bhartiya Janata Party,” CM Patel said in another tweet. Congratulations to the party’s top leadership and god-like workers who worked tirelessly with the resolve of public service.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will take the oath on December 12. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the ceremony.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has not lost a state election in Gujarat since 1995, is poised to win a record number of seats in the 2022 assembly elections. The BJP currently controls 156 of the state’s 186 seats.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at the BJP headquarters in Delhi around 6-6:30 p.m. after leading a glitzy campaign in his home state and addressing 30 rallies. PM Modi is also expected to address party workers about the historic victory.
