Twitter has suspended rapper Kanye West’s account again, just two months after reinstating it, after he posted a picture that appeared to show a Hakenkreuz, often mistaken for the Hindu religious symbol Swastika, interlaced with the Star of David. In a tweet, new Twitter CEO Elon Musk confirmed the suspension and stated that West’s account had been suspended for ‘incitement to violence.’
Musk tweeted that West had “violated our rule against incitement to violence.” “Account will be suspended,” Musk said on Twitter.
The US rapper known as Ye has been caught in the crossfire, accused of sexual harassment and anti-Semitism.
On Thursday, a user requested Musk, who describes himself as a free speech absolutist, saying, “Musk, Musk, Musk.” Please fix Kanye.” In response to the tweet, the 51-year-old said, “I tried my best.” Despite this, he violated our rule against incitement to violence once more. “Your account has been suspended.” Almost immediately, the musician’s Twitter account was suspended.
The rapper, who has been embroiled in both online and offline controversy with anti-Semitic and racist remarks, also shared a photo of a shirtless Musk being sprayed with water, writing, “Let us always remember this as my final tweet.”
Musk responded to the tweet by saying, “Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering photo of me.”
Ye has made several anti-Semitic remarks in recent weeks, and in an interview with US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday, the musician praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. He was barred from using his Twitter and Instagram accounts in October after posting anti-Semitic messages.
“I see positive aspects of Hitler as well. This guy invented highways, invented the very microphone I used as a musician, you can not say this person did anything good, and I am done with that. “I am done with classification; every human being, especially Hitler, brought something of value to the table,” he said during the Livestream.
“I like Hitler,” the controversial rapper said while ranting about sin and the devil. “Every human being has value to bring to the table, especially Hitler,” West was quoted as saying by the Spanish news agency EFE.
Further anti-Semitic remarks followed, including a denial that Hitler murdered six million Jews, which he described as “factually incorrect,” according to the Telegraph. The remarks sparked widespread outrage and resulted in the suspension of his Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as harsh criticism from the Republican Jewish Coalition.
The latest squabble follows West’s appearance at a dinner with former US President Donald Trump and white supremacist Nick Fuentes at the latter’s Florida estate. Following the dinner, Trump referred to West as “crazy.”
The rapper sparked outrage when he said slavery was a choice and that the Covid-19 vaccine was “the mark of the beast.”
