Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the actor, recently reacted to the box-office failure of his back-to-back films. Photograph, Motichoor Chaknachoor, and Heropanti 2 were all box-office flops for him. When asked about it, Nawazuddin cited Shah Rukh Khan as an example, saying he is not bothered by his films’ poor performances.
Nawazuddin was last seen as the antagonist in Heropanti 2. Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria also appeared in the film. The Ahmed Khan-directed film earned only 24 crores at the domestic box office and struggled to hold its position. It is the follow-up to Tiger’s 2014 debut film.
In an interview with News18, Nawazuddin said, “Picture chale na chale, lekin Nawazuddin Siddiqui toh chalega (I will always remain relevant regardless of my film’s performance).” He claims that his hard work is what keeps him going. “I never, ever give up.” I never hesitate to put in the effort. The rest is dependent on whether or not I do my work honestly. There are numerous reasons why a film fails to perform well at the box office. Perhaps the direction is not so good. When a film fails at the box office, we never blame the director. “We always blamed actors, saying, ‘Iss actor ki film flop ho gayi,'” he went on.
“For example, when a star like Shah Rukh Khan, who has a massive fan following all over the world, joins a film, he literally serves those fans to the director on a platter.” If the film fails despite all of this, it is not Shah Rukh Khan’s fault because wo toh thaali mein itni saari audience de raha hai na director ko (he is serving such a large audience). This clearly indicates that the director or the story is to blame. Nobody can blame them. So, I am not really bothered by all of this,” he concluded.
Nawazuddin will next be seen in Haddi, his upcoming film. Noorani Chehre, Tiku Weds Sheru, and Jogira Sara Ra Ra are also in the pipeline.
