About Soumya Sahoo
Soumya Sahoo is from the Bhadrak District of Odisha. Currently, She pursuing a Ph.D. at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, from where she had completed her M.Tech while her B-Tech is from Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar. Her Father is the HOD of the Physics Dept. of Soro College, and her mother is a homemaker. Her sister is pursuing a Ph.D. in Agriculture and her brother is studying MBBS.
What are Soumya Sahoo some greatest milestones in her life journey?
The milestone in her life that genuinely makes her proud is when she thinks of the old days when not many females were encouraged to pursue metallurgy or mineral engineering. She was one of the few girls among her batch mates to have taken admission in this stream and She believe there is no job that’s strictly for a particular gender and She have certainly brought a change in people’s mindset. Additionally, what makes her feel proud is throughout her career She had studied in government colleges and She had also performed well. She had done collaborative work with renowned scientists and researchers.
What is the learning from the challenges that Soumya Sahoo faced and how did she overcome them?
She believe that growth doesn’t come on an easy path, you can only achieve growth when you face challenges. She is a very determined and headstrong person. She don’t run from difficulties rather She face them fiercely and get along with them. She strongly believe in the full form of FEAR i.e; Forget Everything And Run & Face Everything And Rise.
About her strong will to achieve. She is a dreamer, believer, and achiever. Being a girl She has successfully crossed all the odds. Till now She has achieved all her aim whether being an IITian or being placed in a good R&D sector after completing her Ph.D. She is going to join AM/NS India on 1st July 2022.
She said by hard work. Like her father says, nothing is ready-made. You’ve to toil hard and then aspire to get that. That’s the only key to success.
